Courtney and Cooper’s story began in the corporate world, where their paths crossed at work, seated side by side at adjacent desks. What started as colleagues swiftly blossomed into something more. After a year of working together and dating, Courtney made the decision to pursue new opportunities, but their connection remained. Four years later, after a memorable Diversey Harbor proposal, a wedding was on the horizon!
While the ceremony would take place at Courtney’s childhood in Lake Forest, they envisioned their reception against the iconic backdrop of Chicago’s skyline. Morgan’s on Fulton provided the ideal setting—a rooftop oasis offering panoramic views of the city, allowing guests to bask in the urban charm that brought Courtney and Cooper together.
Morning dawned early for the ladies as Beauty by Ann Krause prepped them for wedding day at the iconic University Club of Chicago. Courtney’s gown – strapless with a pointed sweetheart neckline and a show-stopping bow on the back – was nothing short of breathtaking, perfectly complementing the classic black dresses and tuxedos worn by the wedding party.
Windy City Limo was in charge of getting the bride, bridesmaids, and all hotel guests from downtown up to Lake Forest’s Church of the Holy Spirit on time for their 1:30pm ceremony (wedding planner insight…transportation is one of the only things that stresses us out on your wedding day) and thankfully they delivered. Courtney and Cooper were married in a touching service and soon, guests were being delivered back south to Morgan’s on Fulton.
From the moment guests arrived at the venue, they were enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. The color palette, chosen with careful consideration, echoed the couple’s minimalist yet impactful style. Stems mono-floral centerpieces enhanced the guest tables—a reflection of the couple’s understated sophistication.
One of the most memorable details was the personalized touch Courtney and Cooper added to their seating arrangement. As guests arrived, they were greeted by a beautiful framed display board, guiding them to their assigned tables. Then, the couple took the time to personally assign a seat for each guest within the tables, ensuring everyone felt welcomed and cherished.
Throughout the day, every detail seamlessly unfolded according to our meticulously crafted timeline, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our team of vendors. From the artistry of Hanna Walkowaik Photography and Stanley Glen Videography capturing each precious moment to the incredible tunes of TVK Orchestra filling the air, to the delectable meal and dessert by Morgan’s on Fulton and Sweet Mandy B’s, every element came together to create a day that Courtney, Cooper, and their guests will forever remember.
As the evening drew to a close, Courtney and Cooper took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Surrounded by their loved ones, they embraced the beginning of their new chapter with gratitude and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to witness their union.
Just love this recap video from Stanley Glen Videography!
