Kathryn and Billy’s mid-September wedding overflowed with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. We were so honored to work with this lovely couple after having the pleasure of meeting Kathryn at her sister Rita’s wedding the year before. Their family’s decision to entrust us again filled us with absolute delight.
The morning commenced at Hyatt Centric in the Presidential Suite, where Kathryn and her bridesmaids embraced the pampering experience brought by The Bridal Beauty Team. Simultaneously, at the Kimpton Gray Hotel, Billy and his groomsmen reveled in relaxation as they readied themselves for the day’s festivities.
Sally, accompanied by her second photographer Nick from Golden Hours, captured every magical moment that graces this blog. As hair and makeup wrapped up, we escorted Kathryn to dress in her gown alongside her mom and sister.
Once fully prepared, Billy ascended to the Hyatt Centric rooftop, where he shared a heartfelt first look with Kathryn, setting the tone for the day. Following intimate couple portraits, the bridal party hopped onto the trolley from Second City Trolley for group photos across picturesque Chicago.
Meanwhile, at The Arbory, StemLine Creative and Art of Imagination worked tirelessly to infuse Kathryn and Billy’s personal flair into the already exquisite event space. Family members gathered for pre-ceremony photos, ensuring cherished memories were captured before the day got away from us.
With the space primed and anticipation building, the bridal party retreated while guests trickled in. Windy City Limo provided transportation from each of the hotels, while Thomas from Vanilla Video stood ready to immortalize the day through film.
At 5 pm, the air hummed with excitement as Kathryn walked down the aisle. The ceremony was led by Pastor Matt, who conducted a poignant and memorable service uniting this extraordinary couple. Post-ceremony, guests migrated to the adjacent room, treated to delightful appetizers and refreshing cocktails courtesy of the talented team at Hearty Boys.
As cocktail hour began, the ceremony area transformed into a breathtaking reception space. Guests marveled at the space’s evolution upon their return, finding their seats for the next phase of celebration. The evening unfolded with the cutting of the cake, heartwarming toasts, and the couple’s touching expressions of gratitude to their loved ones.
As the dance floor beckoned, Katie from Toast & Jam expertly curated a playlist that kept everyone on their feet. Hearty Boys set up a delicious sundae station for anyone with a sweet tooth and Bob’s Pizza was delivered and made available for all those in need of an end-of-evening bite!
