Kate and Zach celebrated their nuptials in the heart of Chicago at the historic Harold Washington Library Winter Garden. We were so grateful to be a part of bringing their vision to life on this spectacular spring day in May.
Kate and Zach, though currently living in Madison, knew they wanted to honor their love of Chicago with their wedding. They chose the Harold Washington Library Center as the backdrop for the celebration of their love story–which began with a first date along the riverwalk and culminated in an engagement in the same spot. From day one, the stage was set for a truly special celebration in the Windy City.
Wedding day began with some unabashed pampered by the talented team at 312 Bridal for the ladies and a relaxed morning for the gents. With a breathtaking view of the city, the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel served as the perfect backdrop for the beginning of this much-anticipated journey.
The team from Bonphotage expertly captured every special moment, each more meaningful than the last.
Zach’s first peek at Kate’s glamorous wedding day look (which could have come straight off the red carpet) happened on the grand staircase of the Chicago Athletic Association. Their siblings, standing as their only attendants, were joined by a group of friends (and their pup!) for pre-ceremony photos and fun!
Down the street at the Winter Garden preparations were underway for the gorgeous ceremony and reception setups. Floral arrangements by Juliet Tan created an elegant and timeless atmosphere. MDM Entertainment transformed the space with an artistic touch, creating an ambiance that expertly complemented the couple’s vision.
The ceremony was a heartfelt representation of love, complete with personalized vows and the exchange of rings.
The magic continued during the cocktail hour, courtesy of magician, Benjamin Barnes, in particular (side note: close-up magic is one of the most fun activities to add into a cocktail hour!). Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres from LM Catering & Events and chatted, while the vendor team was hard at work transforming the Winter Garden into a celebratory reception space.
Juliet Tan Floral’s centerpieces were nothing short of breathtaking, bringing nature’s beauty indoors (so appropriate in the Winter Garden!) and enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Between joyous toasts and special dances, LM Catering served up a menu that delighted the senses, making the culinary experience as memorable as the love shared. The talented bakers at Alliance Bakery crafted a wedding cake that not only looked exquisite but tasted incredible, adding a sweet touch to the event.
While the wedding guests enjoyed their meal, the desire to get up and dance was palpable. The Bluewater Kings rocked an unforgettable dance floor experience, and the room came alive. From the first dance to the Hora, every moment was filled with love and celebration.
To cap off a perfect day, late-night snacks from Taco Bell kept the energy high, and the rollicking continued until the final notes of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
