Although we certainly do love a good wedding, there is something special about knowing the work Five Grain Events did to make a fundraiser go off without a hitch has a direct effect on how that organization is able to fulfill its mission. That is just how we felt about our work with Anixter Center’s Mission: Possible! Event. It was an exhilarating day filled with camaraderie, inspiration, and generosity, and we are thrilled to share the highlights with you.
Event day kicked off at Galleria Marchetti with our production team from MDM Entertainment arriving promptly at noon to ensure that every detail was in place for the program. The weather was predicted to be spectacular and we were looking forward to a delightful evening outside in Galleria Marchetti’s famous west courtyard.
The Five Grain Team joined forces with Anixter staff and volunteers to begin to bring the event vision to life.
The Silent Auction display was meticulously prepared, our check-in station was readied for guests, and the stage was set for an unforgettable evening. Steve’s Flower Market provided the stunning floral arrangements which added the perfect touch of elegance to the tables dressed with linen from Windy City Linen.
As the sun began to set, it became clear that the predicted optimal temperatures were not holding steady. The Galleria Marchetti staff jumped into action in a matter of minutes to move our outdoor setup inside where guests could be more comfortable, and we readied ourselves for a poignant program.
Guests settled themselves in their seats and were treated to heartfelt speeches from Anixter staff, including CEO, Samantha Handley and honoree, Eric Gastevich, who each shared their passion for Anixter’s mission of supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, and hearing impairments. It was truly inspiring to see the impact that Anixter Center has on the lives of so many individuals and families.
Throughout the evening, our expert emcee and Auctioneer, Dan Campbell from Raising Paddles helped guide the event attendees through each of the educational, exciting, and heartfelt moments of the program. The experience culminated in a lively Paddle Raise bringing more than $300,000 of funds to Anixter Center.
As the evening drew to a close, guests departed with sweet treats from Katherine Anne Confections, each tied with a signature “Anixter purple” bow; a small token of appreciation for their support.
We are incredibly proud to have been a part of such a meaningful event, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to its success. Together, we truly made Anixter’s Mission Possible.
