Dudefest 2023

Earlier this week, the Creevy Family made the official announcement that due to rising production costs they had decided to conclude the annual celebration benefiting Misericordia. While we certainly understand the decision, and know it was a tough one to make, we’ve been reminiscing about the three in-person and one virtual fest we had the honor of supporting. We thought what better way to do so than by recounting Dudefest‘s last hurrah.  And, if you’re as inspired as we have been by the Misericordia mission feel free to make a donation!

The festival fundraiser celebrated its 13th anniversary with the Creevy family at the helm. This event shone as a beacon of hope and solidarity for Misericordia, a place dearly cherished by the Creevys, especially since it became a second home to their youngest sister, Bree. The dedication of Dudefest’s participants to the mission of Misericordia, supporting the journey of individuals with developmental disabilities, remains as steadfast as ever.

As the afternoon sun began its slow descent, Workshop 4200 was abuzz with attendees arriving. As guests arrived they were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm from the Dudefest volunteers at the welcome tent, courtesy of Top Notch. The diligence of Inner Valor alongside Event Medic Services offered a sense of safety for the day’s exciting activities.

The air was filled with Motown tunes, courtesy of DJ Bosserk, on a stage masterfully crafted by Luxe Productions. Kim Ryan, the OFFICIAL photographer for Dudefest, was ever-present capturing the day’s fun.

Thanks to Chicago Food Truck Hub, attendees savored the delicious offerings of Tacos Marios and Royal Ice Cream Truck. Hospitality 201’s stellar bartenders kept spirits high and glasses full, complementing the enthusiastic atmosphere. AMJ Special Events provided fun games for event, much to the amusement of our youngest crowd. If a break was needed, all could enjoy the comfort of seating arrangements by Top Notch, covered by the trusty Windy City Linen and our trusted friends at Kleen Teem diligently maintained cleanliness throughout the fest from start to finish.

The melodies of Brontë Fall signaled the start of the live music, setting the stage for the evening’s lineup. Dudefest’s infamous emcee, Adam Voss, along with his trusty Bosserkers, rocked costumes from the summer’s hit flicks, Barbie and Oppenheimer, drawing waves of laughter before Platform 29‘s riveting performance. Amidst the fanfare, Clementine Creevy of Cherry Glazzer delivered a fab set, followed by the magnetic Lou and The Malnati’s.

Adam Voss returned to centerstage to showcase the raffle prizes which was followed by the rhythmic show performed by Bandwith Chicago Drumline and Dance Team. The evening’s headliner, The O’My’s, delivered an unforgettable act of soulful tunes.

The event concluded with the Creevy Family’s expression of gratitude, leading into the Family Band’s rousing rendition of “Hey Dude,” a perfect finale to a decade-plus of fun and generosity.

Helping plan Dudefest was an immense honor and privilege. A special thank you to Francie and the entire Creevy family for giving us the honor of contributing to this splendid celebration for the last time.
