Emma and Robby’s wedding day was nothing short of a magical celebration, and I’m thrilled to share the incredible journey we had in planning their special day at Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois.
The ladies gathered early in Emma’s room at the Westin Chicago North Shore, decked out in adorable pajamas Emma provided (the tiny hearts; perfection!). Rare Birds Beauty did a phenomenal job prepping and styling, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The anticipation built as the ladies got ready, surrounded by natural light and the hum of excitement for the day ahead. Melissa Marie Photography and Amor in Motion were present capturing every moment and fitting in perfectly with this fun and energetic crowd.
Twin Orchard Country Club, with its tree-adorned golf course and classic ballroom, was the perfect choice for Emma and Robby. The venue held a special place in Robby’s heart as he grew up there as a member, adding a sentimental touch to the celebration.
The day unfolded seamlessly, from the couple’s intimate moments of reading notes they had written to one another to their easy transport by Windy City Limo from the hotel to the venue and the stunning first look on Twin Orchard‘s beautiful property and their intimate ketubah signing. The ceremony, accompanied by String Theory’s graceful music and Flowers by Stem‘s fresh floral color palette, was a beautiful blend of emotion and natural elegance.
Though rain had been threatening all day, we lucked out with a dry evening long enough for guests to enjoy both the ceremony and the exceptional outdoor patio overlooking the property during cocktail hour.
The color palette of blue with pops of yellow brought Emma’s vision of a rustic Italian countryside to life. Thanks to Hall’s, BBJ La Tavola, The Festive Frog, and Flowers by Stem, we transformed Twin Orchard into a picturesque setting that perfectly complemented the couple’s classic-with-a-twist vibe.
As the sun set, the celebration continued with a delightful meal prepared by the club, spirited toasts by family members, and the cutting of the beautiful cake.
Music was definitely a main character in this play as Emma and her dad shared a love for a wide variety of musical tastes. We had to find a DJ who could play Etta James to Avicii and knock it out of the park. Style Matters was the no-brainer choice and the addition of a drummer to accompany the DJ elevated the dance music, creating an unforgettable dance party.
As if there wasn’t enough to do, Twin Orchard prepared a dessert display fit for a king, and guests could pop into the Fotio photo frame or leave a message for the couple with their After the Tone phone in between sips of milkshakes. One of our favorite touches was the late-night snacks – which were brought in special as a nod to Robby’s favorite, Culver’s, and Emma’s classic cravings for Taco Bell.
It was so much fun watching this recap film prepared by Amor in Motion.
We always love working with our couples on bringing their vision to life, but this one definitely stood out. We worked with Emma and Robby to mindfully plan their wedding expenditures from start to finish in order to support their priorities. With Five Grain’s help we ensured Emma’s unique aesthetic could shine through brilliantly and within budget. We presented multiple options, collaborated with incredible vendors, and made their Amalfi Coast-inspired dream come true.
Emma and Robby, it was truly an honor to be a part of your wedding journey. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
