Vibrancy. Community. Success. These three words perfectly encapsulate the atmosphere of Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO)’s annual benefit, “The Light in the Night.” This event brings together some of the most influential law firms in the city to raise funds ensuring that ILAO can continue providing easy-to-understand and free legal resources to those who need them most.
With over 200 attendees present, the event was a testament to the power of community and the spirit of giving. The growing support from sponsors and benefactors made the evening not just successful but also incredibly impactful.
One of the most significant contributions Five Grain was able to make to the event involved a last-minute venue change. As sponsorships soared and the guest list expanded in the month leading up to the event, it became clear that the original venue wouldn’t accommodate the crowd. Just a few short weeks before the big day, we were able to secure the stunning Wildman BT, ensuring that the event went off without a hitch. While certainly a harrowing undertaking, the seamless transition made me extremely proud of the Five Grain Team; showcasing our ability to adapt and deliver under pressure.
On event day the team at Wildman was extremely flexible and worked tirelessly to ensure we had a successful event. Frost and Paramount Events each contributed their expertise to ensure every detail was perfect. The stunning floral arrangements by Swansons Blossom Shop added a touch of natural beauty to the venue, while the sounds of a talented trio from BeatMix Music filled the air, setting the perfect tone for the evening. Stephani Kuehn and Bishop Image Group ensured all of our printed items and signage were beautifully designed and displayed.
After an enjoyable and beautifully displayed station-style meal, guests were encouraged to take their seats as the charismatic auctioneer (Chris Hensley of Bid Raise Bid) took the stage. Angela Garbot Photography captured every moment of the program which was filled with heartfelt speeches, a powerful impact video, and the much-anticipated fund-a-need, where guests generously contributed to the cause. The evening concluded with a round of sweet treats and coffee, as guests lingered, savoring the final moments of a truly unforgettable night.
The Light in the Night was a remarkable success–a night of laughter, connection, and generosity that will resonate for years to come. Although a scheduling conflict meant we weren’t able to help with this year’s benefit, we look forward to the next opportunity to support ILAO’s mission and the incredible work they do for our community.
