Wedding Trends: Escort Card Displays

July 14, 2015

Escort cards are a staple at all weddings, and there are numerous creative ways you can display them for your guests! Whether you are ordering your escort cards, or creating them yourself, here are a few unique ways we have found to add in your personal touch.

One of our Five Grain Events brides used these beautiful birch logs to display her escort cards. The birch tied in perfectly with the outdoorsy theme of her wedding, and made her colorful floral arrangements pop.

Another Five Grain client put a fun twist on her escort cards by cutting out pieces of maps and folding them into paper airplanes. They were unique escort cards, and made a colorful, eye catching display as well!

Style Me Pretty featured a wonderful display you can create yourself using a palett, a handful of doorknobs, and some ribbon! The color options are endless, and the wood and metal mixture creates an edgy, rustic display for your escort cards.

If you are looking for something that guests can also take home as a favor, these terrariums featured on Green Wedding Shoes are a gorgeous option! They serve as a unique way to present the escort card, but also as a favor every guest will love to take with them as a lovely memento.

Wedding Trends: Dessert Tables

July 24, 2014

The sweetest part of any wedding? The sweets table! The wedding cake is always a fun (and delicious) way to get creative but what’s even more fun is designing a whole dessert table for your guests to enjoy. Many couples are leaning toward serving a table full of different candies, cookies, and cupcakes rather than having a big wedding cake for everyone to share. This gives guests options and allows everyone to indulge in their favorite sweets!  Green Wedding Shoes features two different sweets tables that gave the design team at each wedding a great opportunity to enhance the décor of the room. The first picture shows a woodsy, rustic table with everything from chocolate covered pretzels to biscotti to lollipops! While the second table has a more tailored look with clean red and white lines, it gives the same variety with desserts like popcorn and strawberry tarts!

A sweets table is also a great way for a couple to make their day more personal. Last summer, former clients Corinne and Grant chose to serve some of their favorite pies for dessert! The best part was that the “cutting cake” was a tiered pie that they cut using Grant’s navy saber!

Along with serving homemade pies, this couple, featured on Green Wedding Shoes, served donuts for dessert to go along with their circus-themed wedding!

Wedding Trends: Late Night Snacks

June 25, 2014

Every year we help organize classic weddings with traditional elements as well as more modern weddings with a lot of personal touches and DIY accoutrements. As couples stray from the long-established wedding trends, they are creating so many fun, new traditions. This summer we’re going to blog about a few of our favorite trends!

Late Night Snacks

After a night filled with dancing, drinking, and laughing, everyone would agree that a late night snack is a must! Instead of ordering a pizza or calling room service, many couples are having a late night snack set out for their guests. An hour or two after the dance floor opens, guests are invited to help themselves to some fast food favorites like White Castle burgers or a hot dog stand!  This delicious trend is a great way to keep everyone energetic and dancing all night long. Last summer, former wedding clients Dana and Jake had a s’mores station set out at the end of the evening!

Other fun ideas for late snacks were this Chicago-style hot dog bar featured on Style Me Pretty or having the couple’s favorite food truck stop by at the end of the night as featured on Ruffled.
