Wedding Desserts: Ideas Beyond the Cake

June 20, 2013

I am now in my fifth week as a Five Grain Events intern and I have already learned so much about the wedding industry! I’ve attended two weddings so far, and have observed how different each one really is. One major aspect  has been the desserts. I always thought the only option was a traditional wedding cake–wow, was I wrong! There are so many different dessert options couples can choose from these days and guests love it!

Hudson Valley Ceremonies

As you are planning the menu for your wedding reception, there are so many options to choose from. Selecting one of your favorite desserts, or several different sweets options, is an awesome way to set yourself apart from other weddings!

Cake shooters are really fun! You can pick out several different flavors while and have them displayed in one beautiful design!

Who doesn’t love gelato? A gelato bar would certainly be a crowd-pleaser. Such a fun display and it gives your guests plenty of options to choose from!

Think back to sitting around a fire, making an all-time favorite dessert: s’mores. Guests love the option of being able to make their own dessert exactly the way they like it:  dark chocolate…milk chocolate…flavored marshmallows…the possibilities are endless!  A s’mores bar would be a popular treat for all ages.

White and black cake pops are the perfect way to add a touch of elegance and whimsy to your wedding. Have your cake (pop) and eat it too!

A candy bar is a great way to brighten up the wedding! It is lots of fun to pick out the different varieties of candies to display. At the end of the night, your guests can take a goodie bag to snack on later–if it survives the car ride!
