Cafe Brauer Wedding – Rebecca and Jeremy

March 7, 2019

Ed & Aileen Photography

August 26, 2018. HOT HOT HOT. The weather called for upper 90s with high humidity and of course they were right! Although the temperature kept everyone a little warmer than we’d have liked, the day was truly the epitome of a fairy tale Chicago wedding.

Ed & Aileen Photography was there to capture the day’s festivities from the start.  The wedding parties gathered at the Hotel Lincoln for wedding prep where Ania and Erica Janssen provided hair and makeup services for the ladies.  Everyone looked absolutely stunning.

The breezy burgundy bridesmaid dresses were just perfect for the occasion.  Vale of Enna hand-delivered the (stunning!) personal flowers. The lush bouquets were filled with white dahlias, garden and spray roses, pink protea, coral ranunculus and eucalyptus.

The men kept it light and easy looking dapper as ever in their tuxes. Jeremy gifted each of his groomsmen with a handsome set of cufflinks;  the perfect touch to tie it all together!

The morning moved quickly and soon it was time for Jeremy and Rebecca’s first look. Jeremy staged in the park across the street from Hotel Lincoln to await his beautiful bride.

As first look photos were snapped, Absolute Dream Trolley was ready to take everyone around the city for photos while simultaneously acting as a cooling station for the couple and their squad.

Chicago’s landscaping and backdrops did not disappoint. The wedding crew made the 100+ temps look better than anyone ever could have hoped for.

Sheri Reda from Flow Ceremonies led a heartfelt ceremony that could not have been more romantic and perfect. Her words left hearts swelling as she brought guests from tears to laughter.  At the end of the ceremony, we welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs.!

Finally, it was time to let loose and celebrate the gorgeous couple! Café Brauer looked magnificent on this warm summer night. Dinner from Tigerlily was exceptional.  All was in place as Sway Chicago kicked off dinner with the wedding party announcements. The toasts were as entertaining as the food was delicious.

As soon as the meal was complete, the crowd was out of their seats dancing the night away. Sway Chicago kept the party abuzz until the very last song.

The final touch to a picture perfect day and couple was an unforgettable evening sparkler send-off followed by a Windy City Limo bus ride back to local hotels.

Ignite Glass Studios Wedding – Glynis and William

January 11, 2018

I’m not sure if you all remember where you were on Saturday, October 14, 2017…but I sure do! Some phrases that come to mind: record rain falls, flash floods, rain storms, heavy rain, and my favorite…the wettest October day in Chicago’s history.  And you guessed it, wedding day for Glynis and William!  Thankfully, legend has it that if it rains on your wedding day, you are destined for a happy and healthy marriage!  Needless to say, the show must (and did) go on.  The day ended up being a beautiful, memorable day for everyone.

Glynis had her hair done at Penny Lane Studios then began her low-key day getting ready dressed at the Kimpton Gray Hotel.  They both chose private settings to prep for the day to come.  Once photo ready, it was time for the first look. Michelle Catalano-Reilly of Spark & Glow Photo along with William waited patiently at the The Gray’s gorgeous cascading marble staircase as Glynis worked her way down for the first hello. The look on their faces said it all. Rain or shine the day was going to be perfect, because these two were perfectly in love.

To everyone’s surprise, despite the weather the group was still able to pop around the city and grab some stunning photos before heading to Ignite Glass Studios.

Flowers for Dreams did a stunning job draping the space in lush Cafe au Lait and burgundy dahlias, peach ranunculus, and coffee break roses.  Elegant Event Lighting perfected the look with uplighting and romantic drapery.

Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Personal readings from The Velveteen Rabbit and My Struggle along with written vows made the ceremony personal and unforgettable.  The wedding was officiated by Casey Skillington.

Finally, it was time to party!  The room was cozy and romantic as the wind and rain coated the glass walls.  Lula Cafe did an incredible job feeding everyone there (our vendor meal was delightful!).  Binny’s  provided the libations for the evening.

The speeches and toasts brought smiles and laughs to all. It wasn’t long before everyone (and I mean EVERYONE), was on the dance floor partying the night away with DJ Mike Smith.

It may have been one of the wettest days in Chicago’s history, but it was a memorable day for many other reasons.  These two were so much fun to work with and we wish Glynis and William the absolute best in life, love, and happiness.  Congrats!

The ceremony was full of love, laughter, and joy. Mike’s father’s band played beautiful music throughout the ceremony. Lexi’s parents could not help but feel a bit of nostalgia for the church where they also said their vows decades before. Many personal touches made this ceremony one to remember for everyone involved.

After the “I do’s”, Lexi and Mike departed the church and immediately took off on a horse drawn carriage ride from Chicago Carriage, just as Lexi’s parents had following their ceremony at St. Mike’s many years before.  You couldn’t help but get wrapped up in all the beautiful memories and traditions theses two were creating.

Lexi and Mike were stunned at the transformation of The Gold Coast Room at the Drake Hotel which was truly the perfect space to celebrate and dance the night away.  Chicago Lighting Design did a great job illuminating the space.  Lexi and Mike took time to practice their first dance one last time before they showed off for their guests. It was hard to deny the two were perfectly in sync in every way possible.

Once dinner began, the speeches and toasts were thoughtful, hysterical, personal and perfect . Each filled the room with many laughs and happy tears.

It was a very heartfelt moment as Lexi danced with her father to “It Won’t be Like this for Long”. You could see the love and joy on both of their faces and it was hard not to be wrapped up in the dance and moment as much as they were.

Immediately after dances, the crowd danced the night away on the open dance floor. The Gold Coast All Stars kept the dance floor lively until 1am.

City Winery Wedding – Kara and Mark

October 17, 2017

The day was June 24, 2017 and it was the picture perfect Chicago wedding day that every bride dreams of.  The ladies were up bright and early getting ready at Glowout Salon and everyone was all smiles as the sun rose without a cloud in the sky.

Caitlin Lisa of Caitlin Lisa Photography was there to capture the day’s festivities from the start.  After the beautifying was complete, everyone gathered back at the Crowne Plaza Metro Chicago.  The girls looked flawless in their floral floor length dresses as they helped Kara into her fairytale bridal gown and classic Kate Spade heels.

Before we knew it everyone was headed off to St. Alphonsus to get the ceremony underway.  Being from Lakeview themselves truly made this ceremony special in so many ways for Kara and Mark.  All eyes were on the bride as everyone, including Mark, saw her for the first time walking down the aisle. The ceremony went off without a hitch and before you knew it Kara and Mark were leaving as Mr. and Mrs.

Palmer House Wedding – Laura and Mike

March 3, 2017

George Street Photo

It took only one meeting with Laura, Mike, and Nancy (mother of the bride) to know that this was a couple that encompassed the meaning of true love in every sense. Laura, Mike (and Nancy) wanted the day to be as perfect as their love.

Wedding day morning began early at The Palmer House Hilton. The ladies gathered in Laura’s suite while the guys assembled in Mike’s.  Jayme, Jennica, and Sophia from Ann LaCorte Hair and Makeup Design were well into hair and makeup by late morning and George Street Photo and Video was lucky enough to capture the beauty of the day.

The ladies helped Laura into her stunning gown that truly fit like a glove.  As Nancy Krause Floral and Design arrived with flowers it seemed all the pieces were falling into place just perfectly. The bouquets were filled with antique hydrangea, white and desert sand roses, soft pink peonies and gray brunia.  The flowers created the perfect contrast to the ladies’ navy blue gowns.

Before the ceremony, the ladies were able to slip away and take some photos around town.  In true Chicago fashion they paid homage to the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs just six days after they had taken their new title.

The ceremony was held in the Honore Room of The Palmer House Hilton. The room’s breathtaking vaulted ceiling and chandeliers created a magnificent backdrop for Laura and Mike to say I do. The service was filled with personal touches, heartfelt vows, laughter, and tears of joy. It wasn’t long before they stomped the glass and were off as Mr. and Mrs. Michael Zimmerman!  Mazel Tov!

Laura, Mike, and their families took photos around the Palmer House Hilton while final touches were being made in the Empire Room for the night’s festivities.  The room had a certain glow to it that was similar to Laura and Mike’s. You could just feel the love from family and friends.

Laura and Mike kicked off the reception while dancing to “XO” by John Mayer.  They cut their remarkable cake created by Cake Chicago, listened to heartfelt speeches which made everyone laugh and cry, and enjoyed an outstanding dinner of Filet Mignon crafted by Palmer House’s chefs. In no time at all, Toast and Jam DJs had all of the guests dancing away into the night.
