High Tide Technologies WEFTEC Mixer at Chicago Athletic Association

It’s always an exciting experience working on events that are a little different from what we are used to, and our time supporting High Tide Technologies on their exhibition at the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) was no exception.

Our collaboration with High Tide Technologies, a key player in the wastewater industry, was a special one, particularly because of the opportunity to reconnect with our former colleague Sara Balsom who had moved to Nashville to work for HTT some years back. It was our pleasure to assist not only with the preparations for their WEFTEC booth at McCormick Place but also to ensure their welcome reception which was a smashing success.

The goal was clear: provide a relaxed, engaging atmosphere where the sales team, investors, and clients could connect outside the confines of the busy trade show. The Chicago Athletic Association’s Game Room was the perfect venue choice. We wanted to offer something different from the typical hotel banquet rooms, and the Game Room delivered just that—a space where guests could enjoy delicious food and partake in some built-in entertainment, all while soaking in that classic Chicago vibe.

Throughout the summer we interfaced between the team at High Tide and the WEFTEC conference to ensure there were no surprises when it came time to fly their team out for the show. In years past High Tide had not been thrilled by how their WEFTEC booth had turned out – functionally or visually. We took the dimensions of the booth, perused the Expo’s catalog of furniture and additional options and created a mini floor plan for the booth. What resulted was a well laid-out booth that offered space for the sales team to have quick conversations with anyone passing by, as well as seating to showcase High Tide’s proprietary technology one-on-one should someone be more interested.  We sprinkled in a few rented large plants to create a fresh and appealing look.

Early in show week, our team took care of booth setup at McCormick Place so that it was ready to go for the first morning of the show. The night before opening, we prepared all the details for the reception at CAA.

As the event kicked off, it was clear that our choice of venue was a hit. Guests were visibly impressed as they navigated from the front entrance to the Game Room, greeted by friendly faces at every turn. The setting exuded a low-key yet fun and classic Chicago atmosphere, which resonated with everyone. The talented Jaclyn Simpson Photography was on hand to capture the evening’s most candid and memorable moments and nearly every guest commented on how much they enjoyed the food, the games, and the overall vibe of the evening.

It was a blast doing something a little different and yet it still felt like we were “getting the band back together” with some of our OG crew (Sara, Jaclyn, and Emily who assisted at the dinner). Can’t wait for the next one!
