Hi Everyone! My name is Luzi Watson and I am a junior at DePaul University studying Public Relations and Advertising and minoring in Hospitality Leadership. This winter and then into summer I have been given an amazing opportunity to intern at Five Grain Events. Although I am not one hundred percent sure of where my life will take me post grad, I am hoping to work within the events field here in Chicago. I have a love for organizing and planning events for family and friends. Ever since I was little I loved planning the holidays for my family. Now that I am in college I have had a bit more experience organizing and planning events for my sorority, Phi Mu. Making memories and moments happen for other people is beyond rewarding and I can’t wait to work on more events in the future.
This opportunity to work with Joan and the rest of the Five Grain team this winter and upcoming summer is something that I have really been looking forward to. I cannot wait for the planning, organizing of details and then finally carrying out the event itself. The knowledge and experience I hope to gain from this internship I know will serve me well in the future and really help me learn about this industry and work toward building my knowledge in the field of events. Being a winter intern will allow me to work on events in the office, and then later on in the summer I cannot wait to see the events that we have all worked on carried out. I am looking forward to an amazing year here with Joan and the team.
