Even amidst these strange times, we are thrilled to be welcoming our 2020 Intern, Emily Balentine to the FGE team! She’ll be working remotely doing some behind-the-scenes work for the month of April and then take a quick respite to start up again in July. We are so grateful for her flexibility to enable us to work together this year. Read a little about her below, and make sure to say “hi” when you see her out and about with us later in the summer 🙂
Hello everyone! My name is Emily Balentine and I am excited to be interning at Five Grain Events. I graduated last year from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and Justice; however, my true passion lies in event planning. I have worked behind the scenes for various events as an assistant building manager and most recently as a banquet events server. However, it is due to my experience coordinating college leadership conferences, fashion show fundraisers, and more that I realized how beautifully challenging and exciting the world of events can be. Being a type A person, I enjoy organizing, networking, and successfully executing projects.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from everyone at Five Grain Events. As I work with Joan and her team, I look forward to gaining insight into how a successful wedding/events business is managed and what details are often foundational to the success of an event. From considering how to best layout and organize vendor information and day-of schedules to embracing the magic and creativity that each client brings to the table, I hope to hone my skills and provide support to Five Grain Events. I would also really love to get to know the team and gain greater confidence as a future event coordinator. 🙂
