“We had the absolute pleasure of working with Shannon Gonzalez on our October wedding. We hired Shannon to be our day-of coordinator, and my fiance and I agreed, hands-down, that it was the best decision that we made in the entire planning process and for our wedding (with the exception, maybe, of the decision to say “I do”… ). We had a couple of meetings with Shannon in the couple of months leading up to the big day, where she collected a TON of detail about our family, wedding party, plans/desires for photos, ceremony, processional, reception. You name it, she thought of it. While I knew she was super organized and could see it would be helpful to have her there, I didn’t realize just how critical she was to the day until that day. She and her assistant Sarah made everything flow seamlessly, and shuffled people from place to place just as we had planned. I didn’t have to think about ANYTHING — she even brought me my cowboy boots immediately after I was done with our first dance, because I had planned to change to be more comfortable. And she did all of this with grace and a huge smile.

“A wedding planner can be considered a somewhat extraneous expense when considering everything that needs paid for in a wedding, however Five Grain Events is completely worth every penny and at least consideration if you aren’t thinking of getting a wedding planner. We ended up doing full wedding planning and worked with Joan. If there was any question whether it would be worth the cost, we are believers that it absolutely was. Not only was Joan a fun and calming presence to have around during the whole process, she is so organized, professional, and knowledgeable, that it makes every aspect of planning a wedding really fun! I’ve heard so many people say that they were glad their wedding was over because they didn’t have to plan anymore. I couldn’t feel different. Joan made the planning process so enjoyable! We were able to involved with every aspect of planning but were able to ask questions and voice concerns when they arose. She provided a list of vendors she’s worked with and would recommend for every step of the way, including florists, officiants, videographers, which made choosing vendors really easy in a city that has so many options for everything. Joan made it possible to enjoy the wedding planning process, as well as the wedding, without a care in the world.”

Sara had the unfortunate task of informing me not once, but twice that we lost our venue. The second time just months before our scheduled date. I’m sure many brides would have erupted into sheer panic but Sara approached each conversation with new venue options ready to be checked out and I knew everything would work out as long as she was there. “I had a great experience with Shannon Gonzalez. She is warm, friendly, SUPER organized, and willing to do anything to make the bride’s day perfect. My family is not that easy to handle, and she was able to win them over and make everybody happy.
I was on more of a budget than the typical person hiring a planner, but we were able to work out something that was manageable for us. She created the timelines for the groomsmen, bridesmaids, vendors, etc. This eliminated so much stress the last couple weeks. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with such an important day in my life.
