Nothing cheers us up from the doldrums of winter like a fun, garden-themed spring party! Maple & Main Apartments, operated by Greystar, recently opened to the public and wanted to celebrate their stylish digs with a bang! We were ecstatic to help pull together a theme and source some key players for this Grand Opening party. When we learned they had an outdoor pool to boot, we were sold!
We wanted to feature lots of color — and floral! — and we pulled our inspiration from this gorgeous linen by BBj.
It wouldn’t be an official grand opening without a statement balloon installation, so we trusted our friends at Balloons by Tommy to pull something off that could work indoor OR outdoor, factoring the delightful midwest spring weather into the equation. Good thing we did — it was a particularly blustery day!
Another key element of a great Grand Opening? A ribbon-cutting ceremony! The fine folks at the Downers Grove Chamber of Commerce helped make this a cinch, providing the fantastically sized scissors and bright ribbon.
We loved the idea of keeping it around throughout the festivities so guests could sign it and share their well-wishes for Maple & Main!
Giveaways are always a hit, and we had some delightful treats for our guests — a succulent that complemented the permanent decor of Maple & Main, plus stunning hand-painted cookies by Semi-Sweet Ginger.
The food was delectable — we had offerings from both Smokey Tomato, a local Downers Grove catering company, and Cadence Kitchen, a restaurant group opening a new space in the building! Smokey Tomato provided the majority of the hors d’oeuvres, while Cadence Kitchen featured a special appetizer to highlight their menu.
Gold Grid Studios was on hand to capture all the fun of the day, and we couldn’t be happier with the photos!
Congratulations to everyone on the team at Maple & Main! We know you’ll be a stellar addition to the community in Downers Grove, and hope to throw more fun fêtes with you soon!
