There’s no better way to break up the bitter cold months in the midwest than a winter wedding filled with warmth and love! Kelley and her fiancé, Felix, reached out to us when Kelley was a bridesmaid in her good friend Sarah’s wedding. We were thrilled to be able to help them manage the details and keep track of their to-dos during a very busy year leading up to the wedding!
Kelley and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ home; it was a casual and relaxing way to start the day and had all the comforts of home — including Kelley’s adorable dog “nephew”!

The ladies enjoyed getting their hair and makeup done by Patty McGuire Hair and Makeup Artists while Peter Wynn Thompson captured all the details. Kelley was sweet enough to gift each of her bridesmaids with a pair of Uggs to help them stay warm during photos on the bitter-cold January day.

We loved that Kelley and her parents were able to get a special version of the classic photo in front of their fireplace — a setting they’ve used for all the big moments in their family’s life!

While Kelley and her bridesmaids finished up their beautification process, Felix and his groomsmen got dressed at the Hyatt Lodge. Soon it was time for their first look! Peter had scouted a beautiful spot with Kelley and Felix a few weeks before the big day. While there wasn’t a blanket of snow on the ground as Kelley had envisioned, the crisp air, clear blue sky, bare trees, and still water definitely gave off a wintry atmosphere.

After the first look, the wedding party made their way outside to meet the happy couple. The ladies donned their Uggs, shawls, and muffs to bravely traverse the Hyatt campus.

Everyone made it back to the hotel with rosy cheeks, ready to warm up a bit before heading over to Elmhurst College Chapel for the ceremony.
We loved how Flowers for Dreams created Kelley’s vision of winter-white floral, fit with brunia berries and pinecones. The simple but classic floral at the chapel added just the right touch of decor to elevate the space. Kelley and Felix worked with Lilian Derico of Universal Weddings to create a beautiful bilingual ceremony. The ceremony music was beautifully executed by Spanish guitarist Diego Alonso.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the Hyatt Lodge via buses provided by Windy City Limo. They were welcomed by a beautiful place card display, warm candlelight, and a mariachi band! The musicians from Valdes Music Productions were incredible and graciously included a couple of Felix’s younger family members who are aspiring mariachi musicians themselves. Kelley and Felix also provided their own photo booth featuring tons of sombreros, signs, and mini piñatas.

After cocktails, guests were lead into the ballroom by the sounds of the mariachi band. The winter white decor looked beautiful in the Grand Oaks Pavilion, especially the silver chiavari chairs from Elite Chair Covers. Kelley and Felix cut their stunningly simple cake from Lezza Spumoni & Desserts and shared their first dance before sitting down to dinner and toasts.

After some lovely heartfelt toasts, Kelley and her father took to the dance floor, followed by Felix and his mother. Then it was time for the guests to join them all and get the party started! Oliver of Epic DJs kept the hits coming so guests could dance the night away.
