February 8, 2018

Megan and Marc’s December 30th wedding at the Chicago Cultural Center was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.  There was so much planning, attention to detail, and flawless execution across the board, from Megan and Marc and their extended families, to the incredible vendor team they meticulously chose for the big day.  We started working with Megan and Marc about a year out and we feel lucky to have been included in such a momentous family occasion.  We love love LOVED this wedding and it was such a wonderful way to close out our 2017 wedding season.

The day started out early at the London House Hotel with hair and makeup services from Nika, Samantha, and Nora from Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists.  They did an incredible job (as always!) making the girls look radiant and wedding-ready.  We loved Megan’s updo that complimented her incredible veil splendidly.  The Jill Tiongco Photography and Imagination Designers  teams joined us to capture those exciting moments leading up to the bride donning her bridal gown. Megan and her squad were calm, cool, and collected all morning.  We absolutely adored Megan’s dress from Bella Bianca; the blush gown was so unique and absolutely stunning.

Once the ladies were dressed and ready, it was time for the first look which took place on the roof of the London House Hotel.  Look at how happy these two lovebirds are!!  M&M Limo then transported the wedding party for a few photos around the city (despite the frigid temps) while the Five Grain team hustled over to the Chicago Cultural Center to check on the progress of the set-up happening there.

Everyone at the  Chicago Cultural Center was hard at work preparing for the main event.  We’d like to extend a huge shoutout to the Fleur team for coming in the early morning to start their extensive setup and epic transformation of Preston Bradley Hall, while keeping the delicate blooms safe and cozy from the winter air.  We especially love their 12 foot tall boxwood chuppah.  The room looked drop-dead gorgeous with the uplighting and breath-taking pipe and drape display.  A slew of complementary linens from BBJ complimented the decor elements perfectly.

Megan and Marc and their crew soon made it to the Cultural Center to take some family and group photos around the space.  Five Star Valet was there to assist guests with their transportation and take their coats before sending them to the third floor ceremony space.

The ceremony started right at the six o’clock hour and was officiated by Megan’s cousin, Brian Wise.  The ceremony was beautiful; Brian did such a wonderful job telling Megan and Marc’s love story.  Ceremony music was provided by Beat Mix Music. Megan and Marc’s kiss and the breaking of the glass ended the ceremony and everyone headed upstairs for cocktail hour.

J & L Catering provided bites and cocktails on the fifth floor of the Cultural Center for cocktail hour.  Guests were able to grab their escort cards from the board that were carefully constructed by Fleur and assembled by the Five Grain team.  No detail was left untouched and guests enjoyed the extravagant displays of each and every one.

After cocktail hour, guests headed back downstairs to a completely transformed Preston Bradley Hall.  A small army of vendor teams had been working diligently during cocktail hour to transform the ceremony space into the grand look for dinner and dancing.  We always love taking our couples to see the room before everyone else and Megan and Marc were no exception.  They were thrilled with the final product and so were we : ).

J & L Catering provided a wonderful dinner service; the food was amazing.  We enjoyed hearing the heartfelt toasts from the parents of the bride and groom and their best man and maid of honor in between courses. The ever-so-talented Becca Kaufman was the emcee for the evening.  She kept the dance floor moving all night long with help from her band, the Becca Kaufman Orchestra.  Guests enjoyed cake courtesy of Alliance Bakery and a photobooth thanks to GN Events.  The night ended with a Little Help from my Friends by the Beatles and an Edward Sharp Home encore.
