Working with Eleanor and August on their wedding was a true delight this past summer. Aside from my looking forward to working with the incredible vendors they had chosen, I was thrilled to be a part of a wedding with a couple that clearly had so much love for one another. While their goal was to keep their day simple, it was amazing to see the way all their details came together seamlessly and highlighted what they found to be the most important elements of the day – their love for each other and their families.
Eleanor began the day tucked away inside Glessner House Museum with her closest friends and her mom. Pin Me Up Chicago provided stunning hair and makeup services, while Pollen Floral Design delivered florals and added the perfect finishing touch to Eleanor’s hair. Layla Eloa arrived later that morning capturing those final special moments of Eleanor getting ready with the help of her maid of honor and mom, while also photographing details of the day against the historic backdrop of Glessner House.

After enjoying lunch and getting ready with his best man and brother, August arrived at Glessner House where he anxiously awaited a first look at his bride. Eleanor entered the courtyard and the excitement and happiness felt by both Eleanor and August was overwhelming. The bride and groom moved on to the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens next door for more photos together and with their immediate and extended families before the start of their ceremony.

Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens provided the most perfect setting for a wedding ceremony. Marked by Pollen Floral Design’s elegantly simple birch arch and beautiful ceremony music by Yoo Soo Kim, it was easy to forget that we were in the middle of the city. Eleanor and August’s ceremony was heartfelt and romantic, with Sheri Reda of Flow Ceremonies officiating and personally written vows.

After the ceremony, wedding guests gathered on the stairs of Clarke House in the park for a group photo before making their way to the courtyard of Glessner House for cocktail hour. Once in the courtyard, guests were greeted with more beautiful music by Yoo Soo Kim and exquisitely presented passed appetizers from Limelight Catering, while also taking in other details Eleanor and August had in place for them, including a carefully selected beer and wine list.

As cocktail hour ended, guests moved into the Coach House of Glessner House, which was adorned with family photos and mementos, lush centerpieces by Pollen Floral Design, and perfect up-lighting by Art of Imagination. Limelight Catering wowed guests once more with incredible entree choices, while family and friends delighted listeners with their personal and entertaining stories about Eleanor and August. Once dinner concluded, Eleanor and August opened the dance floor with a choreographed dance to an original song by Yoo Soo Kim. Enjoying the beautifully lit courtyard, delicious donuts by Stan’s Donuts, and DJ Chicago taking over the dance floor, Eleanor and August savored every last second of the night with their guests.
