It was an absolute joy working with Karlin and Vince on bringing their wedding details together. Karlin, Vince, and I all went to college together, and it was fun reconnecting for their early spring nuptials at Greenhouse Loft in March.

Karlin started the day at the new AC Marriott hotel. She and her sisters-in-law were beautified by the talented Juan José Herrera and Jennifer Mertz. The light in the room was impeccable, and I’m sure Greenhouse Loft Photography would agree!

Vince spent the morning relaxing with his cousin and soon-to-be brother- and father-in-law, before donning his dapper white dinner jacket and bowtie.

Soon it was time for Karlin to put on her unique and gorgeous gown. The top was covered in beading in a vintage-inspired geometric design with a simple tulle skirt. She carried a brooch bouquet which had been hand-crafted by her incredibly talented mother, Dominique. It perfectly complemented her bright red lipstick and signature think-frame glasses. She was the picture of chic sophistication.

Karlin and Vince shared their first look just outside of the hotel before taking their Windy City limousine to some of their favorite spots in the Bucktown neighborhood where they live.

Their traditional catholic ceremony at the magnificent St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Bucktown was truly lovely. Northside Brass played an impressive processional and recessional to round out the grand occasion. Following the ceremony, the couple and their wedding party made a few more stops for group photos before heading to Greenhouse Loft.

Meanwhile, during the gap between ceremony and reception, wedding guests shared a cocktail or two at the nearby Bristol Restaurant before boarding Windy City Limo coach buses to be transported to the evening reception.
Upon arrival at Greenhouse, wedding guests were treated to delightful hors d’oeuvres and ever-flowing cocktails crafted by The Hearty Boys. They kept busy by jotting down pieces of advice for the newlyweds on the designated cards, and by checking out the display of family wedding photographs assembled by the bride and her mom.

The wedding party snapped a few pictures in the “ultimate photo booth” before it officially opened to the rest of the guests. I just love how these photos taken by Steve at Greenhouse Loft turned out!

Inside the main space, Pollen Floral Design was prepping the square tables with simple and organic arrangements in a palate of white, green, and silver. It was exactly what Karlin had envisioned!

Food was incredibly important to the couple, and The Hearty Boys knocked it out of the park. Dinner featured a choice of Slow Braised Short Rib, Pesto Seared Salmon, or Toasted Farro. Everything was so delicious. After some heartfelt toasts and special dances, it was time to open up the dance floor. Karin with Toast and Jam DJs really got the party started. The dance floor was packed and the only breaks were people sneaking off to grab a couple sweets from The Hearty Boys display.
