It’s been a wonderful summer with our intern, Kylee. Check out where she started and her final thoughts as she bids us farewell–thanks for everything, Kylee!
It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that this summer is actually coming to end. I feel like just yesterday I walked into Joan’s office and was being greeted with a hug and a smile. But now as I start packing all my things to go back to college, it is amazing to look back at all I have done at Five Grain Events this summer. Over the past three months I have assisted eight weddings, one corporate event and a graduation party. Working alongside the wonderful ladies of FGE at all these events has been such an eye opening experience. I came into this journey not knowing what exactly to expect but after spending my time with everyone at FGE, I can honestly say I am more prepared and more eager to continue my career interest in the coordinating world! Watching each of the ladies handle stress and time crunching situations was inspiring to me because they handled everything with such ease and professionalism. They always went above and beyond their call of duty to guarantee that the events went as smoothly as possible. I learned from them skills such as people skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. Their encouragement for me to do things on my own and to take charge of certain tasks allowed me to grow as a professional. Without their trust in me to do things on my own, I do not believe I would have gained as much experience and knowledge if they did not give me that opportunity.
I am so blessed to have had such a great group of women to work with and teach me what it takes to run a successful event planning business. I have learned more than I could have ever imagined and I am totally excited to see where my next journey will take me in the event coordinating world! Joan and all the women gave me such great advice and always guided me with any questions or concerns I had. I know that FGE is only going to keep flourishing as a wonderful business and I cannot wait to hear about what they will accomplish in the future. I will miss spending my time with the FGE ladies, and I hope to see them all again as possibly an assistant or to just catch up. I am thrilled to see what the future holds with the experience, insight, and courage I have gained from Five Grain Events over the past summer months. I cannot thank Five Grain Events enough for welcoming me into their family with open arms. It is bittersweet to say goodbye but I know that this is only the beginning to a life-long career path I wish to pursue.
