Sam and Jeremy’s wedding planning process got off to a little bit of a rocky start. The first venue that they chose for their wedding closed halfway through the planning process. Sam and Jeremy settled on a great second venue slated to open before their wedding…only to find out just a couple months before wedding day that it wouldn’t be finished in time. Everything worked out, though, because third time’s the charm! Thanks to a little bit of help from Paramount Events, Venue One made the perfect setting for their gorgeous gold and blush wedding.
The day started out for the ladies in Sam’s suite at the Swissotel. The view from her room was unbelievable! The morning was relaxed and fun while everyone got dolled up with hair and makeup by Courtney and Leana. Anna Guziak and her team arrived early to capture all of the fun. Once the bridesmaids were dressed, Sam put on her dress. One of my favorite moments of the day was when Sam’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time. It was truly special.
The gentleman spent their morning at Sam and Jeremy’s apartment hanging out and getting ready. Before long, they loaded up in a mini-bus from Windy City Limo and headed over to the Swissotel for Sam and Jeremy’s First Look.
Sam and Jeremy shared their first look on the Chicago River Walk. Aren’t they a beautiful couple?!
After Anna had snapped a few photos of just the two of them, Sam and Jeremy joined the rest of the bridal party and headed out for more pictures. Meanwhile, the Five Grain Events team headed over to Venue One to start the setup for the ceremony and reception. Revel Decor and Paramount Events were already there working hard making everything perfect.
Once pictures were over, the bridal party headed over to Venue One to hang out before the ceremony. After a slight tear-in-the-pants situation which was remedied by the amazing Shannon of FGE, and a few family photos, the ceremony began.
One of the groomsmen served as officiant, making the ceremony incredibly personal and truly special. The love that Sam and Jeremy have for each other radiated to every guest. It was truly magical.
After the ceremony, guests made their way into the cocktail area while Paramount Events, Revel Decor, and the FGE staff flipped the room for the reception. With Venue One’s one-of-a-kind lounge settings and screens displaying photos of Sam and Jeremy, it made the perfect setting for guests to mingle and enjoy the delicious hors d’oeuvres from Paramount Events .
The reception area was absolutely stunning with gorgeous table runners from BBJ Linen and spectacular centerpieces by Revel Decor. The lighting in Venue One helped make everything warm and inviting. Sam and Jeremy had some creative personal touches. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests wrote notes on Jenga pieces, to act as advice and encouragement as they “build” their life together. The escort cards were attached to wine corks, adding a special touch.
After cocktail hour, guests headed back into the main room for the reception. The bridal party announcements were some of the most choreographed that I have seen, ending with Sam and Jeremy being announced into the room to the Rocky Theme song while wearing boxing robes. Sam and Jeremy went straight into the cake cutting of their beautiful cake by Cake Chicago, followed by a heartfelt and very humorous welcome toast by Sam’s father.
After a blessing by Jeremy’s dad, salads were served. During the delicious entrée, the Best Man and Maid of Honor gave poignant toasts.
After the cake was served, Sam and Jeremy thanked all of their guests before taking the dance floor for their first dance. This was followed by the Father/Daughter dance and then the party really got started.
Guests danced and celebrated to the musical stylings of Toast and Jam. While taking a break from the dance floor, guests posed for the photo booth by Smilebooth. Near the end of the evening, Paramount Events brought out my favorite late-night snacks from any wedding I have been a part of: who doesn’t love mini root beer floats and fried chicken and waffle bites?!
The whole evening was truly exceptional and I am so grateful to have been a part of it. From the lovely bride and groom, to their families, to their fabulous bridal party everyone involved was so kind and wonderful. Sam and Jeremy, if you can make it through all of the ups and downs of your wedding planning process with such grace and positivity, I am sure you will be able to handle any curve ball life throws at you. You are truly special, and I wish you both the best.
