We are so sad to wish our wonderful intern, Nicole, farewell after all her help this summer! Check out what she learned and experienced during her 3 months with Five Grain Events…
After 10 weeks, 8 weddings, and 4 incredible coordinators I can say that the summer was a success! I learned so much from my time working at Five Grain Events! From time management to customer service, I now feel confident about my skills as I head out into the “real world” to find a job. I learned things like how to create an organized timeline and even how to put a chuppah together but the most important thing I learned was how to handle the rush of wedding day. I really loved seeing how each coordinator handled the emotional parts of the day like the moment right before a bride walks down the aisle. You can see all of a bride’s emotions come out as she waits in the hallway for her big debut. This was always my favorite part of the day as I was truly impressed watching the FGE coordinator step in and whisper something to the bride that always ended in a huge, confident smile across the her face. It was amazing to see how these women were always one step ahead of everyone else whether it was in regards to a bridesmaid’s dress ripping or a missing boutonniere, FGE always found the best solution to the problem.
Even more than watching in awe as Joan, Sara, Shannon, and Emily coordinated these events, I was also able to learn so much about the industry. The entire team partook in helping me find my next step in life and helping me to improve my resume, my interviewing skills and my job search. Joan brought me to a networking event that she coordinates called Thursday Therapy, where I was able to meet people in other parts of the Events industry and talk with them about their careers. I am so thankful and appreciative for the Five Grain Events team for taking their time to help guide me through the world of Event Planning. I had so much fun with the Five Grain team this summer and I truly hope this isn’t my last time working with them whether it be as a coordinator, vendor or one day as a client!
We’ll miss you, Nicole!!
